Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can you wash & detail my vehicle without the use of any water? The solutions we use to wash your vehicle contain a special mixture of polymers and naturally derived surfactants. The solution, once sprayed on the vehicle, encapsulates the dirt within a lubricating film. With the use of a microfiber towel, the dirt is then lifted away from the surface leaving a layer of polish. A second microfiber towel is used to evenly spread the polish leaving a smooth finish. Water is used to mix the solution but only to thin it out from its concentrate form so it can be sprayed evenly.
2. Will it harm the paint on my vehicle?
No it will not. All of the solutions used by Eccosave Mobile Wash are non abrasive and in no way harsh.
3. But what about the towels you use, will they scratch my paint finish?
The towels we use are of the highest quality Microfiber towels available on the market today. These are not your typical towels bought from the local hardware or automotive store. These towels have been researched and tested to insure no scratches to your vehicle paint. Most towels, including terry cloths, do not pick up dirt but only push it along and will create visible scratch or swirl marks on a clear coat finish. Microfiber is a manmade hybrid of polyester and polyamide, a nylon by-product. The polyester makes it durable while the polyamide makes it super absorbent and quick-drying. The superior softness comes from the superfine fibers that are 10 times finer than silk and 100 times thinner than human hair. Over 200,000 strands per square inch make Microfiber the softest material you can use on your vehicle. And its dense construction allows it to absorb 7 times its weight in moisture.
4. How long do your services take?
This depends on the detailing package chosen, the vehicle type (car, SUV, truck, motorcycle, etc), and the condition. An average time is listed with all our packages but again they are just average. Some may take longer while others a shorter time. Once our team arrives onsite, a more precise time be given
5. I have tinted windows on my vehicle. Will those be effected?
The solutions used to wash and care for your vehicle have been tested and are perfectly safe for all surfaces including tinted windows.
6. My vehicle at times can be covered in mud or salt. Can it still be washed?
The problem with thick mud and heavy dirt is that once it hardens on a vehicle, it requires a steady stream of pressured water to break up and remove. Salt creates a similar problem but can be quickly steamed away. It would be very difficult to remove mud and caked on dirt with our cleaning methods. We ask that you remove the excesses dirt from the vehicle first before having us wash and detail it.
7. Where can you detail my vehicle?
Being mobile gives us the freedom, and you the opportunity, to have your car washed wherever you are. All we require is at least 2 to 5 feet of space around your vehicle. We also have the option to take you vehicle to a private location to work on. The choice is up to you.
8. One of your packages include a "claying" feature. What is that?
"Claying" is a process we use to remove containments
from your vehicle not noticeable to the naked eye. Break
dust, acid rain, industrial and environmental fallouts,
are just some of the containments that sometimes cannot
be removed with a normal wash.
9. Can you wash my vehicle during the winter months?
Yes we can but given that the following conditions are met:
1. Outside temperature is above 7ºC
2. Vehicle is in an enclosed area. For example,
underground parking, covered parking, or a garage with
at least 3 feet of space around vehicle.
10. What is Carnauba Wax?
Carnauba wax comes from leaves on a palm tree located Brazil called Copernicia prunifera. It is one of the hardest
and purest types of wax available.
11. How long does Wax application last?
There is no standard answer regarding how long a car wax will last. Many variables influence the life of the wax like the colour of paint,
the condition of the paint, the environment (weather), and if the vehicle is garaged or parked outdoors.
Due to our northern climate, waxing of a vehicle needs to be done more on a frequent basis.
A vehicle should be waxed at least once every 2 months if not garaged, and every 3 months if garaged. Don't be fooled when someone tells you that a wax
application or paint sealant can last 2 to 5 years. If that was the case, you would never need to wash you car and there wouldn't be such a vast array of products available.
12. Why do your detailing package pricing vary from one price to the next?
Prices vary for many reasons. You've heard of the old saying “time is money “ before. Well it is very true especially when it comes to a skilled labour detailing service. Some detailers are more thorough than others, some have more skills, better techniques, better products and some have better equipment. Some detailers will include more steps in a detail package than others such as engine cleaning, interior dressing, machine polishing, or wet sanding. More steps mean more time which means more money. Some clients are very picky and they demand absolute perfection, while others are looking for more of a basic detail. Some clients would like their interior done to perfection and some clients would like their exterior to look showroom ready:
● How old is the vehicle? A job can take much longer detailing an old or classic vehicle, than a newer one
● The color of the vehicle. A darker vehicle will always show more imperfections than a lighter called vehicle. It takes more time to clean, polish and detail the exterior of a darker vehicle, than lighter one.
● The size of the vehicle. Less time and steps are required to detail a small 2 door car, compared to a large SUV like a Hummer
13. There are many other car wash & detailers in my area that are lower in price. Why should I choose you?
Yes, there are many car detailers out there but very few are actual professional detailers and cannot provided a prestigious detailing service or outstanding customer service as we can. Are these detailers insured and licensed? Are the individuals bonded?
By bringing the service to you, you have the flexibility to plan your day and get things done you wouldn't otherwise be able to. Our team arrives professionally dressed, easily identifiable, and on time.
So yes many call themselves "detailers" but can they really provide the service you want? How true is this saying, "you get what you pay for"? Trust us, very true.
14. Do you need electricity or water?
Water, no. Our waterless cleaning method requires no hoses or water tanks. We also carry a generator with us but will require an electrical outlet if a steam package is requested.

20. What is Waterless car washing?
We're glad you asked! Here's a
definition borrowed from Wikipedia:
A technique used to wash a vehicle without the use of water (also called a waterless car wash). This technique uses a product that contains many different ingredients, including wetting agents , lubricants and
protectants. The detergents and wetting agents in the product combine to soften and emulsify surface grime, while a specific blend of fluids and lubricants attach a microscopic layer of protectant to the surface. The protectant is often an extremely
rare (and expensive) substance which provides a bonded layer of protection against any remaining abrasive not broken down by the detergents and wetting agents
The protectant often contains extensive cross linked polymers , which make it extremely effective as a car wax or glaze . The product often contains a complex mixture of cleaning elements along with the glaze ingredients.
With proper application, the product lifts dirt from the vehicle by emulsification. The product surrounds dirt molecules, lifting them from the paint surface, before you start to wipe. At the same time, the application process initiates the cross chain polymer linking process that results in an extremely shiny, highly protective glaze finish. All this happens very rapidly due to the balance of ingredients within the product itself.
The application process does not involve high pressure nor extensive rubbing. The application process also does not require "soaking" - using a high volume of product. When used in compliance with its "directions for use," the vehicle will shine and water will bead on it.
